Our country just witnessed its 132nd mass shooting of the year.

A gunman with an assault weapon opened fire on a group of law enforcement officers in Charlotte, North Carolina – slaughtering 4 officers and wounding 5 more.

Even though 2024 is on pace to set the record for police officers shot, Republicans still refuse to do a damn thing.

Gun violence is plaguing our communities everywhere – and not even police officers are safe. But Republicans continue to insist guns aren’t the problem and block our efforts to ban assault weapons. That’s why we have to keep up our fight to get these weapons of war off our streets and end gun violence once and for all. So we are urgently asking for 553 gifts to help us fully fund our campaign to reinstate the assault weapons ban and defeat every coward who refuses to protect our communities. Can you rush $15 before our End of Month Deadline at midnight to help us replace every spineless gun-lobby-backed lawmaker with a democratic champion who will fight to protect our communities? Republican Ted Budd who represents North Carolina in the U.S. Senate proudly declared:


“Firearms are, after all, the great equalizer. They help ensure that the strong do not prey upon the weak.”


Ted is downright wrong – police officers (aka the “good guys with guns”) are being shot at a record pace. This glorification of gun violence is horrifying.

All Budd and his fellow Republicans care about is scoring cheap political points from the gun lobby while Americans, from police officers to civilians, continue to be slaughtered.


We deserve to live in a world without gun violence. It’s that simple. That’s why we’re fighting hard to ban assault weapons once and for all and end mass shootings for good.
