Secretary of State Antony Blinken Urges Hamas to Accept “Extraordinarily Generous” Ceasefire Deal as Israel Prepares for Battle in Rafah

Washington Examiner: U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken urged Hamas to accept the latest ceasefire proposal, which he described as “extraordinarily generous” for them. The U.S. is among a group of countries, including Qatar and Egypt, that have acted as mediators for months between Israel and Hamas but have been unable to get both sides to agree to a ceasefire deal dating back to December. “Hamas has a proposal that is extraordinarily, extraordinarily generous on the part of Israel and they have to decide quickly, and I’m hopeful they will make the right decision and we can have a fundamental change in the dynamic,” Blinken said. Blinken emphasized Hamas needed to respond quickly due to Israel’s intention to carry out full-scale military operations in the southern Gaza city of Rafah (Washington Examiner). Axios: Israel in recent days presented a new hostage deal proposal to Hamas through Egyptian mediators that includes a willingness to discuss restoring “sustainable calm” to Gaza, hinting Israel is open to talking about ending the war. A Hamas delegation will arrive in Cairo on Monday to discuss the details of the proposal and deliver a response (Axios).

George Washington University Protesters Dismantle Police Barricades as Encampment Grows
Washington Examiner: George Washington University students are continuing their fifth day of pro-Palestinian protests and encampments Monday as police barricades were breached late Sunday night into Monday morning. According to a statement from the university, protesters from an encampment adjacent to the campus “breached and dismantled” the barriers used to secure University Yard early Monday morning. The group included nearly 200 protesters from across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. “This is an egregious violation of community trust and goes far beyond the boundaries of free expression and the right to protest,” the statement read. “The university will use every avenue available to ensure those involved are held accountable for their actions” (Washington Examiner). NBC: Social media video shows a rush of demonstrators breaking through the bike rack-style barricades set up near the encampment. A drum is beating, there is chanting, and some protestors kick or jump on barriers. Police attempt to push back or hold on as the barriers are moved (NBC).

Princeton Faculty Demand Record of Arrested Students Be Expunged, Students Reinstated to University
National Review: A group of more than 100 Princeton faculty and post-docs have signed a letter demanding that the university reinstate and expunge the records of two graduate students who were arrested for trespassing while participating in an anti-Israel protest last week. “This repressive action, undertaken at the behest of the University administration, constitutes a grave threat to freedom of speech, dissent, and assembly on the Princeton campus,” reads the open letter, which was released on Saturday. An activist group called “Princeton Israeli Apartheid Divest” claims two graduate students, Hassan Sayed and Achinthya Sivalingan, were arrested for trespassing and “evicted” on Thursday. A Princeton University spokesperson confirmed that two graduate students had been arrested for trespassing and immediately barred from campus, pending a disciplinary process, but have not been evicted from university-owned housing (National Review). These are grown adults who must be held accountable for their actions.

Universities Look Towards Harsher Tactics to Deal With Student Protests
Associated Press: Colleges around the U.S. implored pro-Palestinian student protesters to clear out tent encampments with rising levels of urgency Monday, as police made more arrests at the University of Texas and Columbia University said it was beginning to suspend students who defied an ultimatum to leave the encampment there by an afternoon deadline. Protesters who returned to the University of Texas at Austin on Monday were quickly greeted by dozens of law enforcement officers. Six protesters were quickly arrested and others were taken into custody. Officers used pepper spray after a group of protesters blocked the path of a police van carrying demonstrators who were arrested. The crowd backed away but continued to block the exit from campus. Officers then used two flash bang explosives to clear a path so the van could leave. In New York, Columbia began suspending students after activists defied a 2 p.m. deadline to respond to the ultimatum (Associated Press). NBC: Columbia was the first institution struck by protests in support of the Palestinian cause, with students demanding that the school divest from investments that support weapons manufacturing and Israel amid the backdrop of the Israel-Hamas war. Protests spread quickly last week on campuses from coast to coast, resulting in mass arrests and crackdowns (NBC).

Gascon’s Assistant DA in Los Angeles Arrested on 11 Felony Charges
RedState: LA County Assistant DA Diana Teran, who oversaw George Gascón’s efforts to prosecute law enforcement officers instead of criminals and to release thousands of felons from prison early, was arrested Saturday on 11 felony charges related to the “unauthorized use of data from confidential, statutorily-protected peace officer files.” Like many alleged felons in Los Angeles County, Teran was out on bail less than an hour after her arrest. According to a press release from California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Teran “accessed computer data including numerous confidential peace officer files in 2018, while working as a Constitutional Policing Advisor at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and, after joining the LADA in January 2021, impermissibly used that data at the LADA (RedState). Bill Melugin: She is a former public defender who Gascon hired to be one of the most powerful people in his office, overseeing all prosecutions of law enforcement, and in charge of “office integrity” (X). Retired LASD Chief Patrick Jordan: Given my knowledge of Diana Teran’s behavior while the “Constitutional Policing Attorney” for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept, I am not surprised.  When going after Deputies, I felt she operated in the “gray area” (X).

Biden Pays OnlyFans Creator to Create “Political Propaganda” for His Administration
Daily Caller: Internet personality and OnlyFans performer Farha Khalidi stated during a podcast she was “black-pilled” after making “political propaganda” ads on TikTok for the Biden administration. Khalidi and another ex-Muslim OnlyFans performer, Jazmen Jafar, joined political science researcher and commentator Richard Hanania on his podcast to discuss her introduction to making money online through TikTok. In a clip of the podcast posted to X (formerly known as Twitter) Hanania began by asking Khalidi if she began making money on TikTok and OnlyFans while she was still in school (Daily Caller). Collin Rugg: OnlyFans creator Farha Khalidi says she was paid by the Biden Administration to spread “political propaganda” & was told to not disclose her videos were ads. Everything about Biden is fake. Khalidi says the Biden admin reached out to her because they wanted someone with darker skin sharing propaganda for Biden. “I was doing full on political propaganda,” she said of her TT videos. “The funny thing is they’re like, do not disclose this is an ad because technically it’s not a product so you don’t have to disclose it’s an ad” (X).

Zelensky Says Ukraine, U.S. Ironing Out Agreement of American Aid for 10 Years
Just the News: Arizona Republican Rep. Andy Biggs on Monday fumed over reports that Washington was working with Ukraine on a 10-year aid plan, even after Congress approved a $61 billion aid package. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this week revealed that his government was working on a “bilateral security agreement” that would fix “specific levels of support for this year and for the next ten years.” “I didn’t know that we were trying to annex Ukraine as a 51st state,” he said. “You know, something like 42% of the money is actually gone on military” he went on. “The rest of it has gone to supply their pensions, their farm subsidies, their government operations, a significant portion of it is just gone to the wind. We have no idea where it went the same with the some of the material” (Just the News). Texas Sues Biden Administration for Latest Title IX Revisions
Daily Wire: Texas filed a lawsuit Monday over the Biden administration’s new Title IX rules forcing public schools to allow trans-identifying males to compete in women’s sports and use women’s bathrooms. Earlier this month, the Education Department unveiled new Title IX regulations to prohibit schools from enforcing blanket bans on trans-identifying males in girls’ sports set to take effect in August. Title IX is the 1972 federal civil rights law prohibiting sex-based discrimination at schools receiving federal funding. In response, Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit alleging the administration is attempting to twist the federal law’s meaning to align with “radical gender ideology” (Daily Wire). Hill: Paxton in Monday’s lawsuit called the Biden administration’s new Title IX regulations “vague” and “overbroad” and said they rely on a misunderstanding of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County, which found that employees are protected from discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. The Biden administration has frequently used the landmark 2020 Supreme Court ruling as a foundation on which to build policies that strengthen federal protections for transgender people. Republican-led states across the country have pledged to reject the administration’s new Title IX rules, arguing that expanding the definition of sex discrimination to include gender identity will harm women and girls and punish individuals who refuse to use a transgender person’s chosen name or pronouns (Hill).
