As District Attorney, it is my responsibility to keep our families safe, as well as alert them to potential threats to their quality of life. In fact, it would be a dereliction of my duty to remain silent.

That is why I feel compelled to address the “behind closed door arraignment” being perpetrated on you with the pending appointment of Bob Morris to the Hernando City Court bench. You may remember Bob Morris, who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 and donated to gun-grabbing Democrat liberals in Congress.

Let me be clear: Such an appointment would be VERY bad for the City of Hernando and DeSoto County – believe me!

As a municipal judge, Mr. Morris would possess the authority to determine bail and preside over preliminary hearings for felony cases. History shows that judges affiliated with the likes of Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi tend to exhibit leniency towards criminals, resulting in low bails and a prioritization of "rehabilitation" over punishment. This leniency permits violent offenders to freely roam the streets with minimal consequences for their actions. Just look at the mess in Memphis. A Judge there recently released a felon on ROR bail who subsequently murdered a policeman.

This appointment would directly undermine my efforts as Distrct Attorney to establish high bonds for felons, so that we do not become SOUTH MEMPHIS. This is not the trajectory we want to go!

And remember, DeSoto County and Hernando already issued a HUGE “no thanks” to Bob Morris for District Attorney for all these reasons and more.

Keeping us safe in DeSoto County is my top priority, and I need your help to tell our city leaders (Alderman and Mayor) loud and clear – Bob Morris is the wrong guy for the job!
