Dear NRDC Supporter,

This is really important.

As NRDC’s Chief Science Officer, it's my
job to follow science to advocate for our environment and
communities and the policies that will protect them.

The climate law passed by Congress and
signed by President Biden in 2022 — the Inflation Reduction Act —
is the kind of game-changing policy we’ve been fighting for,
putting us closer to reaching America’s ambitious 2030 climate
goals.

It’s helped give our planet a fighting
chance against climate change, but the fossil fuel industry and
its friends in power are fighting hard to take that away.

We need to do more — and that’s where
NRDC’s Fighting Chance campaign comes in ( [link removed] ).

NRDC has launched Fighting Chance to
mobilize the next generation of climate activists to defend
climate progress and press our leaders at every level to go even
further and faster in the year ahead.

We’ll be holding events, engaging
influencers and thought leaders, and reaching as many people as
possible from coast to coast to share the facts about the
important progress we are making together to take on the climate
crisis — even as we keep fighting for more.

The Inflation Reduction Act is the
biggest climate investment in U.S. history. This landmark law is
already delivering benefits to more and more people across the
country by making our air cleaner and healthier, especially in
low-income communities and communities of color.

And last month, the administration issued
critical safeguards to limit dangerous carbon pollution from
cars, trucks, and power plants.

We’re closer than ever to the clean
energy future we need to stave off the worst impacts of the
climate crisis — but policy alone won’t get us there.

It's up to you, me, and people across the
country to mobilize massive public pressure on our leaders to
act.
