I’ll start honestly: I’m writing to ask if you can chip in toward our End of Month deadline tomorrow night, John – but I want to do this differently.

I don’t think of deadlines the way most people typically would. Of course, we set our goals very intentionally, and need every dollar to keep our trainings and advocacy running.

But rather than stressed by the pressure, I’m so grateful for every monthly deadline we face. It means we’re still here to face them.

Two of the three co-founders of Teachers Unify are survivors of school shootings, myself included. We have colleagues – fellow educators – who didn’t make it home. And a big part of why we do this work is to make sure no other teachers have to face that risk.

So these deadlines, John, are a way to transform that loss, pain, and fear into action.

We face the threat of gun violence every day. But it’s not every day we get to see hundreds of people all donate their hard-earned dollars to help us END it.

So with our next big deadline at midnight tomorrow, I have to ask: Will you donate $25 to hit our End of Month goal, and help us seize this moment to grow our movement of educators and end gun violence in schools? >>
