Since the 2020 election, 29 states have enacted 79 new laws with the potential to interfere with the nonpartisan administration of elections. And right now, legislation of this type is currently moving, and has passed at least one chamber in eight states.
Our newest report, “The Shapeshifting Threat of Election Interference,” examines how election interference legislation has changed over the course of the past three years and what that means for 2024. In particular, we highlight the impacts of these concerning developments in two key states that experts consider among those most likely to determine the results of the 2024 election – Georgia and North Carolina.
