No one ever truly wins in war, John.
John,
Today marks 205 days since the war between Israel and Hamas started.
That’s over six months. In that time:
- More than 1,200 Israelis were killed in an appalling act of terrorism by Hamas and other militant groups.
- In response, Israel has since leveled much of Gaza and, at the time of this writing, has killed at least 35,000 Gazans — the overwhelming majority of whom have been civilians.
- More than 100 hostages remain held by Hamas and other groups seeking to use them as a bargaining chip.
- 62% of homes in Gaza have been destroyed.
- Gaza is facing a looming famine and an acute public health crisis as critical infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed entirely.1
Rather than use their leverage to the fullest extent, the U.S. and other Western powers have continued to double down in their support of Israel’s goal of completely eradicating Hamas — a goal many experts believe to be impossible.2
John, no one ever truly wins in war.
And we have the unique ability to do something about it. The U.S. remains Israel’s largest weapons supplier, and many observers agree that the Biden administration can and *should* do more to push for a lasting ceasefire that will bring peace to a region engulfed in violence.
The majority of Americans are with us, John. According to a poll from the Data For Progress, 67% of voters want the U.S. to support calling for a ceasefire and do more to stop the violence.3
If you agree, join us today by adding your name to demand President Biden do everything in his power to support a #CeasefireNow!
SUPPORT A #CEASEFIRENOW!
