Dear Friend,

We hope this note finds you and your loved ones in good health. We want you to know that we are thinking about you and truly care about your well-being. COVID-19 reminds us that we are all just human. We are all vulnerable. And we are all in this together.

Yet in the moment of crisis, President Trump is choosing to double down on the cruel and inhumane international drug war. Just days ago, Americans were deprived of vital information on the federal government’s COVID-19 response for close to an hour while Trump ranted about his plans to use scarce resources to ramp up the drug war.

We need your support now as we fight against this escalation of the international drug war. Ramping up this ineffective war is irresponsible at any time, but especially egregious during a global pandemic.

By allocating scarce personal protective equipment (PPE) to people to enable an escalation of the drug war in South America, Trump is preventing these vital supplies from reaching the hands of our doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers who are fighting a critical battle across the country and begging in vain every day for these resources.

Drug war zealots are clearly unrelenting. To stop them you must be too. Fight with us against this gross misuse of power and resources. Join the Reformers Club by committing to a monthly donation, or you can show your support with a one-time gift today. Dependable support from our monthly donors is essential to the work we do and to the future of drug policy reform.
