Last night the Wisconsin Supreme Court overruled Governor Tony Evers' effort to delay in-person voting and the U.S. Supreme Court restricted mail absentee voting, which means today's election is back on and polls are open across the state.

The chaos and confusion surrounding this election has been unacceptable – but right now we're focused on making sure as many people as possible can make their voices heard.

Here's what you need to know:

• If you're voting by mail, make sure your ballot is postmarked by TODAY (April 7) or, even better, drop it off in person. You should bring it to the post office and ask them to hand-cancel it, or drop the ballot at the municipal clerk's office, or your polling place, by 8 p.m.
• If you're voting in person, make sure to confirm your polling place and bring an acceptable photo ID. Many polling places have closed or changed, so confirm your polling place at: myvote.wi.gov/en-us/FindMyPollingPlace. • You can still register at the polls. Wisconsin voters can still register to vote today on Election Day. In order to register to vote, bring proof of residency to your polling place (as well as your photo ID). • Trouble voting? Call the Election Protection Hotline. If you have trouble voting call 866-OUR-VOTE with questions.
• Stay in line and be patient: Lines may be longer than usual, and keep social distance from other voters. Polling places in Wisconsin are closing at 8 p.m. If you're in line waiting to vote, stay in line.

The failure of our elected representatives to protect our elections from the disruption due to COVID-19 is inexcusable – but that makes it all the more important for voters to cast their ballots and hold them accountable.

The stakes are too high to sit this one out.
