Dear Texas Small Businesses & Economic Development Partners,

Please join us in celebrating our brave and bold entrepreneurs as we kick off *Small Business Week in Texas [ [link removed] ]*, April 28 – May 4, 2024.

Our great state’s small businesses all play a pivotal role in bolstering Texas as the nation’s leader in economic expansion — an accolade we don’t take for granted! In fact, thanks in large part to our small businesses, Texas has set record after record for total jobs and is recognized as the #1 state for job creation in 2023.

With nearly half of all working Texans being employed by small businesses, it is no question that Texas is the best state to start a business. We also celebrate Texas being one of our nation’s leaders in women-owned, minority-owned and veteran-owned businesses.

In addition to providing numerous resources to small- and medium-sized businesses — like the Governor's Small Business Resource Portal and regularly hosted Governor's Small Business Summits and Webinars — the Governor’s Office of Small Business Assistance celebrates and continuously advocates for Texas entrepreneurs during Small Business Week (and every week of the year).

Governor Greg Abbott shares a Small Business Week in Texas Proclamation [ [link removed] ] and a special message [ [link removed] ] as we recognize the mighty 3.2 million small businesses that make up the backbone of our economy.
