Dear Audubon Advocate,

After receiving comments from across the nation, including more than 14,000 from Audubon supporters, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) just finalized a groundbreaking new rule that will guide how America's public lands are managed now and for future generations. The new Public Lands Rule recognizes conservation as an essential component of public lands management and boosts the health of wildlife, ecosystems, and communities.

But, there’s a problem. Some Members of Congress are on the attack, and there is a vote scheduled THIS WEEK on legislation that would overturn the new rule.

Urge your Members of Congress to vote NO on H.R. 3397, which would prohibit the BLM from implementing the Public Lands Rule. Take Action: [link removed]

The Public Lands Rule is a once-in-a-generation opportunity that elevates conservation resources and tools to manage our public lands sustainably so that they can be passed on in healthy condition to our children, grandchildren, and generations to come—and the wildlife that depends on these critical landscapes.

Birds rely heavily on BLM lands and waters—more than 300 bird species spend more than half of their time living across these landscapes. The Public Lands Rule elevates conservation on BLM lands and prioritizes the health and resilience of ecosystems by ensuring that science and data inform decision-making.

Your Members of Congress urgently need to hear from people like you who support the new vision for conservation of our public lands.
