It’s never too late to change course. April is both Second Chance Month
and Earth Month – a time to remember that people who were incarcerated
deserve a second chance, and communities facing the worst of the climate
crisis need help. We cannot give up on people or lose hope in the face of
climate chaos. Instead, we must find common ground and fight for solutions
even when angry voices try to keep us stuck in gridlock and the broken
status quo.

“Civil death” may sound like a legal concept from ancient times. But civil
death – stripping away fundamental rights while one is still alive – lives
on in felony disenfranchisement. During Second Chance Month, discover how
[ [link removed] ]civil death and unjust laws, rooted in racism, continue to affect
communities today. Then dive deeper to advocate for justice and voting
rights restoration. Let's dismantle barriers to civic participation and
support those rebuilding their lives.

Do you have a climate crisis story? Climate change affects every single
neighborhood in its own way. In order to build momentum for action, we
need to share stories of specific challenges and help develop effective
solutions. April is Earth Month, the perfect opportunity to celebrate
Mother Earth and become an advocate for change right where it impacts us
the most — at home. So this month, we invite you to share your local
climate woes. By adding a narrative to these challenges, you can drive
real and sustainable action to mitigate these impacts for you and your
community.

Urge Congress to upgrade our obsolete power grid! Do you know that one of
the biggest obstacles standing in the way of a clean energy future is
actually our power grid? Yet, Congress is delaying modernizing the grid to
efficiently integrate clean energy, support widespread electrification,
and withstand worsening climate disasters. Investing in a 21st-century
grid will improve reliability, lower your costs, and power the transition
to 80% renewable energy by 2030.
