Let’s be completely clear about Charlottesville, since Trump has brought it up:
The bigotry and hatred on display from white nationalists that August was sickening. Lives were lost. And the violence was stoked by one side: The side of racism, intolerance, and intimidation. Those are the facts.
But Trump doesn’t operate on facts. He stirs up fictions to fuel his desire for power, and he’ll excuse any atrocity so long as it helps get him what he wants.
We can expect more of the same if he slithers back into office.
I’m going to do every single thing in my power to stop that from happening — starting by making sure his promise to flip Virginia this November does NOT come true.
I’m hoping you’ll stand with me on this today. Donald Trump doesn’t get to excuse and minimize what happened in Charlottesville and then turn around and win our Commonwealth.
If you agree, please make a donation of any amount to my campaign today, and let’s keep VA blue in 2024.
The fact that people like former “Grand Wizard” of the KKK David Duke have cited Trump to justify their dangerous views is a disturbing reminder that his divisive rhetoric emboldens extremists everywhere. It’s up to us to pull together and stand up against hatred in no uncertain terms.
We won’t go backward.
Thanks for reading.
