Folks,
I don’t like people fighting my battles for me.
It’s something I learned serving as a Captain with the Army Rangers. As a leader, you are expected to lead by example and put service above self. That meant I was the first person to jump out of a plane, and the last person to eat.
Even as I rose up the ranks, I always remembered what it was like to walk in the boots of a private.
This is why I ran for Congress in the first place.
When I saw Donald Trump and extreme MAGA loyalists refuse to take action on issues like gun violence and protecting reproductive rights, I said enough is enough. I never thought about running for Congress, but we desperately needed a new generation of leadership to step up.
Media pundits and our opponent doubted our chances — but we made our voices heard loud and clear on Election Night. You helped me defeat a four-term incumbent and become the first Democrat to represent Colorado’s 6th District.
But the truth is, the fight isn’t over. Democracy, civility, and women’s rights are on the ballot this November. The stakes could never be higher. My time in combat taught me to never back down from a fight, and I don’t intend to stop now.
Will you chip in $10 to help me elect more service-oriented leaders to Congress? My April fundraising deadline expires in 36 hours >>
