Dear john, I hope that you and your family are well and enjoying the spring weather. It was good to be back in North Carolina following a flurry of activity in the Swamp last week. If you and your family or school group visits DC this spring or summer, my office is happy to assist you with tours and tickets. Congress returns to Washington this week, and I look forward to keeping you updated via social media and this newsletter. After the House of Representatives shamefully passed a massive America Last foreign aid package last weekend, the Senate took up and passed the bills this past Tuesday. I was glad to see North Carolina’s own Senator, Ted Budd, join me in standing against this abomination of a process – with the final result, now signed into law by President Biden, being more than $95 billion in unpaid for aid, over $60 billion in aid to Ukraine, without any effort to secure the border, and a censorious ban on TikTok that violates the First Amendment. I joined Pete Kaliner on WBT Radio to recap the past week in Congress as well as to talk about the Biden administration’s latest attack on women’s sports and due process. | We’re seeing the Biden administration continue to weaponize the law against their political opponents – namely, President Trump. It’s disturbing, and it’s contrary to everything America is about. I will always stand against this dastardly lawfare with all I’ve got. Service Academy Information Day It’s a great honor as your Congressman to nominate young men and women from our district to our nation’s service academies. These young people who seek to serve our nation are extraordinary and deserve our praise. This year’s process commenced with a Service Academy Information Day that my staff and our dedicated Service Academy representatives who joined together to host this event last week in Indian Trail. While I couldn’t attend because of the concurrent votes on the House floor, my staff and representatives from each service academy were in attendance. For more information on the service academy application process this year, please visit my website. | Celebrating Our Wounded Heroes It was great to celebrate North Carolina’s annual Wounded Heroes Day in Charlotte, honoring heroic veterans like Sgt. Michael Verardo. | Let’s continue to salute the sacrifice and bravery of our wounded heroes. Their service represents the best in our nation, and it was an honor to participate in this event in their honor.
