Hey, we’re facing a big fundraising deadline tomorrow, and we need some help to catch up to our goals. Can you pitch in a few dollars and help us get there?

I know emails like this are annoying, especially on a Monday morning, so let me explain really quickly why I’m asking.

This district is one of the most competitive in the entire country, and winning here takes an enormous amount of resources. The entire House of Representatives could come down to KS-03, and I don’t want us falling short to be the reason extremists remain in control of Congress.

My opponent is raking in money from election deniers and anti-abortion activists. And on top of that, two of the most deep-pocketed super PACs in the nation have said publicly that defeating me is one of their top priorities this year. So that’s a LOT for us to fight back against.

I’m running enthusiastically on my record in this re-election race. I’m proud of my record of helping to reduce drug costs, passing bipartisan legislation to tackle gun violence, and creating good-paying, clean-energy jobs here in Kansas. And I’m proud to be fighting back against extremist attacks on LGBTQ+ rights and reproductive freedom.

The fact is, we need some more help getting that record out to every voter in this district. Internally, for our campaign team, that’s what this deadline comes down to: will we have the resources to make sure folks know the truth about who I am and what I stand for when they fill out their ballots?
