DEADLINE APPROACHING: Tell USFWS to protect native carnivores like bears and wolves by May 6 ([link removed])
[link removed]
Friend,
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering a rule that would ban “predator control” programs in the National Wildlife Refuge System. That could mean lifesaving protections for wolves, bears, foxes and other wildlife who call these refuges home.
If finalized, this rule could be life changing for the animals targeted by these programs. But we need a strong show of public support to get this new rule over the finish line. Will you speak up for our beloved wildlife–before the deadline on May 6–by sending a comment to USFWS right now? ([link removed])

“Predator control” programs might sound reasonable on the surface, but here’s what they look like in practice:
* Gunning down animals from the air and leaving them to bleed out in agonizing pain
* Abandoning animals in cruel traps and snares, forcing them to break and rip their paws or even limbs in a desperate attempt to escape
* Hunting down animals with packs of radio-collared hounds, which can lead to gruesome fights that can injure or kill all animals involved, including young kittens, pups or cubs who sometimes get caught up in the fights
It’s time to ban these cruel and misguided “predator control” programs and replace them with real conservation science. Right now, the Humane Society Legislative Fund is working to ensure the swift finalization of this proposed rule so that the National Wildlife Refuge System can be a true sanctuary for all animals. But we need your help to make the strongest case possible.
That’s why we’re counting on you to make your voice heard before the crucial May 6 deadline. Please, click here to demand a ban on cruel predator control programs on National Wildlife Refuge System lands now! ([link removed])
Thank you for speaking up for wildlife today,
