It may not seem like it, but it’s a big day in Iowa history, friend.
It was 67 years ago today that Iowa became a leader in women’s rights after we became the first state in the nation to allow women to serve on juries. This was a big step forward for women’s rights across the country, and we paved the way for greater action toward gender equality in the United States.
So what’s happened since then? Unfortunately, we’ve fallen – and we’ve fallen far. With Iowa Republicans in power, we’re facing the largest backslide on civil rights in American history with Iowa Republicans seeking to ban abortion, IVF, and more.
It’s so important that Iowa Republicans don’t get away with stripping Iowans of their civil rights. That’s why I’m so excited to see that we have 42 Democratic women running to serve in the state legislature this year - and two women are already our nominees for Congress! And that’s before we get to all the amazing women running for local and county offices across our state. I’m going to do all I can to help them get elected.

But campaigns aren’t cheap – and they’re only getting more expensive with each election. That’s why we need to raise more money than ever before and win big this November. Will you help us elect Democrats in 2024 by chipping in 42 for the 42 Democratic women running for state legislature this year? [[link removed]]

Let’s rock the boat in Des Moines and Washington and elect Democratic women up and down the ballot this November.
