ACLU Supporter,

Last Wednesday, the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case that could take away people's power to get emergency abortion care. Only weeks before, I was at SCOTUS as the justices considered imposing sweeping restrictions on mifepristone, a safe medication used in most abortion care nationwide.

The fact that our nation's highest court is even considering such cases is the result of continuous attacks on reproductive freedom across the country – and that's why I wanted to give you an update on where our fight is at the moment:

As a senior staff attorney for the ACLU's Reproductive Freedom Project, I can tell you firsthand that our legal team is leaving everything on the field as we stand up to these attacks on reproductive freedom – and I promise you that we will never stop fighting for your rights. But we need your support. Will you make a gift today to help fuel the work of our attorneys? <[link removed]>

That's right, ACLU Supporter. The ACLU, backed by the nationwide network of attorneys I'm proud to call my colleagues and by YOU, is fighting for your reproductive freedom:

* We partnered with campaigns led by state advocates and won at the ballot box to enshrine abortion rights into the Ohio state constitution – and then we used that victory to file a new lawsuit challenging harmful restrictions on abortion access.

* We are continuing to fight against abortion bans in states like Georgia – and we're preparing for our next fights.

* Last year, we launched the Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative, which works with defense attorneys across the country who are ready to defend people who face criminal charges or investigations for providing, seeking, or helping others access abortion care.

This is a fight for all of us, but as I listened to the Supreme Court weighing whether to impose nationwide restrictions on mifepristone, I couldn’t help but think of the communities that are most impacted by these attacks – including low-income patients, communities of color, folks living in rural areas, and people in abusive households.

The fight before us is clear, ACLU Supporter, which is why I'm personally reaching out to you for your support: Will you help us raise $50,000 to defend abortion rights by making a donation right now? Your gift will fuel the work of our lawyers and advocates on the ground working to defeat abortion bans and protect reproductive freedom. <[link removed]>

The ACLU has been at the center of the fight for reproductive freedom from the very beginning. We will never waver – and it's your support that keeps us going. Thank you.
