Why we call W.E.B. Du Bois the “Grandfather of DEI.”
------------------------------------------------------------
Du Bois, along with six other self-proclaimed socialists and Marxists, formed the NAACP in 1909 to marginalize the most prominent Black American at that time, Booker T. Washington, characterizing him as a “sellout” and an appeaser to white people.

Early on, the NAACP helped challenge lynchings and discriminatory practices in court. However, Du Bois also used the NAACP as a guise to promote Marxist and anti-capitalist roots in the black community. Du Bois’s legacy lives on in modern-day DEI. He believed the struggle for civil rights was a struggle against capitalism.

Du Bois encouraged black people to embrace communism as an alternative to what white America offered. According to Manning Johnson, author of Color, Communism, and Common Sense and a former member of the Communist Party, Du Bois was deceived and in turn deceived many in the black community. Johnson left the Communist Party after discovering they only pretended to be a friend to black Americans to use them to generate a movement. Their ultimate goal was to leverage racial grievances to divide America.

By 1928, Communists had infiltrated black civic and political organizations, churches, and universities. Today, these organizations are knowingly or unknowingly promoting Marxism through the DEI agenda.

• Authored The Souls of Black Folk (1903)
• Traveled to the Soviet Union to receive the Stalin Peace Prize in 1954
