President Biden Makes Jabs at Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner

Axios: President Biden joked about his age and took jabs at former President Trump during Saturday’s White House Correspondents Association Dinner. Biden has been increasingly using humor in recent weeks to criticize his predecessor and 2024 rival and push back against concerns over his age. “The 2024 election is in full swing and yes, age is an issue. I’m a grown man, running against a six-year-old,” Biden said, also calling Trump “sleepy Don.” Biden poked fun at Trump’s legal troubles. The former president is currently required to be in court four times a week for his New York criminal trial (Axios). Campus Protesters Call for a Jewish Genocide
Townhall: It was only a matter of time before the truth seeped out of these pro-Hamas rallies. We’ve known the true intent for months, but the media will find it harder to pivot when they see signs and paraphernalia like this. At UPenn, a pro-Hamas student was caught wearing a jacket featuring the Star of David and two rats. Yet, the ‘Final Solution’ sign featured here is one image that can aptly describe every pro-Hamas rave occurring on college campuses nationwide (Townhall). Stop Antisemitism: UPenn – student protestor spotted wearing a jacket adorned with a Star of David and two rats. Tell us again how these terror rallies are not antisemitic (X). Dr. Eli David: Just some “peace activists” calling for genocide of Jews. Nothing to see here (X). Stephen Gutowski: Disturbing that GW (George Washington University) allows this sort of open anti-semitism on its campus (X).

AOC Met With, Encouraged Antisemitic Protesters at Columbia University
Daily Wire: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) visited the anti-Semitic protest encampment at Columbia University this week and praised its leadership, which comes after video went viral of one of the most vocal students in the protest saying earlier this year that “Zionists don’t deserve to live.” Ocasio-Cortez traveled to the school on Friday where the demonstrations have generated national headlines for over a week. “The leadership you have is so excellent,” Ocasio-Cortez told one of the activists. “It’s really special. It’s really amazing” (Daily Wire). Reporter Ali Bauman: AOC visits students in the Columbia University protest encampment today (X). Biden Delays Banning Menthol Cigarettes Once Again in Ploy to Maintain Black Voters
Reuters: The Biden administration on Friday delayed its plan to ban menthol cigarettes, a move that reflected the potential for a political backlash from Black voters in an election year. For decades, menthol cigarettes have been in the crosshairs of anti-smoking groups who argue that they contribute to disproportionate health burdens on Black communities and play a role in luring young people into smoking. About 81% of Black adults who smoked cigarettes used menthol varieties, compared with 34% of white adults. U.S. health secretary Xavier Becerra said in a statement that the proposed ban had brought immense feedback including from parts of the civil rights and criminal justice movement (Reuters). NBC: The ban has already been delayed at least once, with promises of it being enacted by the end of last year coming and going. At the time, the White House quietly updated its Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs website to reflect that any final ban on menthol wouldn’t happen until at least March. At the time of the December delay, one official with a national public health group working to remove the products from the market told NBC News they were “deeply concerned” the ban would not take effect before the 2024 election (NBC).

New York Times Gives Statement on Biden Actively Avoiding Interviews
New York Times: For anyone who understands the role of the free press in a democracy, it should be troubling that President Biden has so actively and effectively avoided questions from independent journalists during his term. The president occupies the most important office in our nation, and the press plays a vital role in providing insights into his thinking and worldview, allowing the public to assess his record and hold him to account. Mr. Biden has granted far fewer press conferences and sit-down interviews with independent journalists than virtually all of his predecessors (New York Times). Townhall: Since taking office in January 2021, Biden has only done 89 interviews, according to data conducted by the White House Transition Project director Martha Joynt Kumar. In comparison, former President Donald Trump gave 300 interviews during his term, while former President Obama sat for 422 interviews. Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush gave 168 interviews, while Ronald Reagan gave 189 (Townhall).

The groups also said they want to knock on over a million doors in opposition to Republican Lt.
