Last chance to nominate a National Park Protector 

Nominations for our annual National Park Protector awards close this week!

This is your last chance to nominate a project, team or individual going above and beyond for National Parks. Winners receive a top prize of £1,000 to support their work, as well as other goodies at an awards ceremony in Westminster in July. 

Nominations close 23:59 on Sunday 5 May, get them in while you can!

There is no limit on the number of nominations you can make. You can nominate yourself and you can nominate runners up or nominees from previous years.

2023 WINNERS

Our National Park Protector Award 2023 winners showed a deep dedication to Protected Landscapes, representing the forefront of National Parks that are better for people, nature and the planet.

Winners of the National Park Nature award were the South West Peatland Partnership, a landscape scale collaboration to restore degraded peatland across Dartmoor, Exmoor, West Penwith and Bodmin Moor, and Nick Sanderson, bringing people together to make a difference for nature at Barton Turf Adventure Centre in The Broads.

The winner of the New Perspectives award was Sameed Asghar, UK-qualified montain leader and founder of Summit Special. So far, Summit Special's group treks have introduced 100s of people from BAME groups and those with several barriers to the great outdoors.

Our Changemaker of the Year award winner was Matt Staniek from Save Windemere, a campaign to raise awareness of sewage polution in the Lake District. Starting from nothing, Matt has tirelessly worked to put the local issue on the national stage.
