John,

We hope you are having a great weekend!

We wanted to reach out and make sure this important message from Governor Larry Hogan didn’t get lost in the shuffle.

ALL elected officials have the responsibility to maintain public safety, but right now many are failing at this core duty. That’s because they are more interested in playing partisan political games than supporting our brave law enforcement officers.

Governor Hogan knows that politics can never come before public safety.

John,

It has been a busy month on the campaign trail. I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many Marylanders and truly listen to their concerns, and one has been consistently at the top of your lists. I’m talking about crime.

Marylanders are right to be concerned about crime–I am too.

Maintaining public safety is one of the core responsibilities of any elected official, and right now, our politicians are failing us.

Let me be clear: public safety is not a partisan issue. In fact, partisan division only stands in the way of concerted efforts to tackle crime. Each minute politicians spend arguing about what to do, more people become subjected to acts of violence, theft, or other crimes.

It is common sense that we must provide every possible resource our law enforcement officers need right now. They put their lives on the line everyday to keep our communities safe, and the more they are enabled to do their jobs the safer we will all be.

That's the kind of leadership we provided as your governor for eight years.

I am proud

to have launched the “Refund the Police” initiative, which raised police salaries, helped agencies with recruitment, paid for body cameras and de-escalation training, and funded a host of other programs to support our law enforcement.

This was amazing progress, but more can and must be done NOW because crime doesn’t rest. ALL Maryland families deserve peace and safety in their communities. Politics can never come before public safety.

That’s exactly how I served you as governor, and that is how I will serve you in the Senate.

Do you agree that we must never play political games when it comes to taking on crime? If you do, please consider supporting my campaign for the U.S. Senate.

SUPPORT GOVERNOR HOGAN

The politicians in Washington AND my opponents are targeting me right now. My message of unity instead of partisan politics is threatening to them because they do not want to change politics-as-usual and GET BACK TO WORK.

Your support right now will send a message that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Crime is not partisan. It is time our politicians work for the people again, not themselves or their party.

Thank you,

Governor Larry Hogan

A Personal Message from Governor Larry Hogan:

[link removed]

Hi, it’s Governor Larry Hogan.

When I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I did so with a deep resolve to maintain the leadership style and principles that guided me during my eight years as governor.

Fifty years ago, my father, Maryland Congressman Larry Hogan Sr. made a tough decision. He became the first Republican to come out for the impeachment of President Nixon. He put aside party politics and his own personal considerations and stepped up to do the right thing for Maryland and the nation.

Today, Washington is completely broken because that kind of leadership and willingness to put country over party has become far too rare. But it’s not in my nature to sit back and watch the dysfunction continue without doing what I can to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

I’m under no illusion this will be an easy road. But I’m no stranger to uphill battles, and I know I can’t do it without your support.

I don't aspire to be a United States senator. I don’t need a title and I don’t need a job, but I’m more concerned than ever about the direction of the country and I have become more convinced that I can make a difference by taking the approach and style of leadership I had during my eight years as governor to Washington.

It’s no surprise this mindset has made me a target of the Washington partisans. Despite early polls showing a lead, I know I’m the underdog in this race. And that’s why your support TODAY is so crucial.

So if you can chip in a donation of $25 or more, it will go a long way in helping me continue building a strong campaign.

For eight years, we proved that the toxic politics that divide our nation didn’t need to divide our state, and we got results! Let’s get back to work again and send a message to Washington that will be heard loud and clear across the country!

Will you join me today and help end the dysfunction in Washington?
Thank you,

Larry Hogan
