Dear Friends/Amigos,
I wanted to remind you that on Friday, May 3, 2024, my office will throw a Casework/Resources Fair to help all residents of Florida's 27th Congressional District with any federal casework needs they might have.
Representatives from various agencies will be present to answer your questions about casework relating to USCIS (Immigration), Social Security and Medicare, the IRS, Veterans Affairs, and Passport Services. Stop by at the Coral Gables Library from 10am to 2pm that day for help on any of these areas of interest. Register for the Casework Fair here.
Our Miami community secured a major win after my bill, the Migratory Birds of the Americas Conservation Enhancement Act, was signed into law by the President. This bill will bolster efforts to protect our South Florida ecosystem by protecting the beautiful birds that make Miami and the Everglades so special. Read more about it below.
It is an honor to serve you in Congress, and as always, please don't hesitate to call my office at (202) 225-3931 with your opinion.
Sincerely/Atentamente,
María E. Salazar
U.S. Representative (FL-27)

MY MIGRATORY BIRDS PROTECTION LEGISLATION WAS SIGNED INTO LAW!
|
|
I am pleased to announce that my legislation, the Migratory Birds of the Americas Conservation Enhancements Act, was signed into law by the President last week.
Migratory birds make up an important part of our South Florida ecosystem and significantly bolster Miami's wildlife recreation sector. This legislation is not only a victory for us humans, but for the birds of our community as well!
This is my now my seventh bill that I am proud to have guided through the process into becoming law.

CONDEMNING ANTISEMITISM ON
COLLEGE CAMPUSES
|
|
In the face of rising instances of antisemitism on college campuses across America, I stand strongly with Jewish students who are facing systematic abuse from protestors who parrot blatantly antisemitic slogans or who physically harass their Jewish peers.
Jewish students deserve the freedom to attend classes and study without fear of harassment or physical harm. My full statement above and here.
