Last weekend, Lauren Boebert and 112 corrupt MAGA Republicans voted against aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, aid that is critical to our national security and the security of the Western alliance.

While deliberations for the bill were ongoing, some Democrats brought Ukrainian flags into the House chamber to remind their Republican colleagues what the stakes are – and our obligations to NATO allies surrounding Ukraine.

Unlike Lauren Boebert, I’ve actually gone to war to defend American freedom and democracy around the world. Unlike Lauren Boebert, I understand the stakes that our allies in Ukraine are facing against an illegal invasion by the Russian Federation.

And because I understand those stakes, I know the ways in which the war in Ukraine has exposed Western production vulnerabilities.

Here’s the current situation: The United States and Europe cannot at this time supply a two-front war. That needs to get remedied immediately. If it doesn’t, and Russia’s war against Ukraine expands, we face the potential for an all-out, global war – this time with nuclear weapons.

Unlike Lauren Boebert, I fully stand by the Biden administration’s unbreakable commitment to our democratic allies in Taiwan, Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Ukraine, Europe, and Israel.

Our commitment to NATO has kept the peace since the end of WWII and must remain ironclad. We must unite our nation, and elect honest leaders who understand the capabilities, consequences, and limitations of the exertion of U.S. military might.
