Hello Supporter!

We wanted to share some exciting news with you: We've changed our name! Down Ballot Allies is now Get Out The Vote PAC. We're still the same organization, we've just found a more impactful approach to flipping red districts blue. We are focusing on mobilizing voters in the most critical races in the country through direct, individual outreach. We've officially endorsed our first round of candidates for the 2024 election cycle! These are three incredible Democrats who are fired up and ready to fight against the ultra right wing MAGA Republicans and take back our democracy.

Let's start with Lieutenant Colonel Dan Helmer. Dan is not only a member of the US Army Reserve, but he's also an instructor in the Department of Social Sciences. He has a wealth of knowledge in international relations and American politics. With 11 years of active duty under his belt, including tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and South Korea, Dan's dedication to public service is unwavering.

On top of all that, Dan is a member of Virginia's House of Delegates and defeated the only Republican incumbent who survived the 2017 blue wave in Northern Virginia. This opponent voted to criminalize abortion and blocked gun violence prevention measures in Virginia. As a legislator, Dan has been a champion for gun violence prevention laws, protecting victims of sexual assault on college campuses, and so much more. The Washington Post even praised his work, saying he "displayed guts, independence, and intelligence as a freshman lawmaker."

Next up, we have Harry Dunn, a former police officer who served in the United States Capitol Police for 15 years. Harry was present during the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6 and bravely testified with his colleagues in front of the House Select Committee investigating the attack. His efforts were recognized and he received both the Congressional Gold Medal and Presidential Citizens Medal. We're incredibly grateful for his service and dedication to upholding democracy.

Next, we have Janelle Bynum. Janelle is a former engineer and current member of the Oregon House of Representatives. Since being elected in 2016, she has made a huge impact as the chair of the House Committee on Economic Development and Small Business. Janelle has fought to lower the cost of prescription drugs, protect women's reproductive. freedom, defend LGBTQ+ rights, and address issues like affordable housing and homelessness. She's also been a strong advocate for tackling the climate crisis and ensuring that young people have the opportunity to succeed, whether they're pursuing a four-year degree or a career in technical education.

Last, but certainly not least, we would like to introduct you to Eugene Vindman, who is running for Congress in Virginia's 7th District. Eugene's story is one of resilience and determination. In 1979, he and his family arrived in New York City as refugees from Soviet Ukraine with only $759 to their name.

Eugene went on to serve in the Army for the first part of his career. He served as a Paratrooper and Infantry officer, dedicating himself to protecting our nation. After putting himself through Law School, Eugene became an officer in the JAG Corps. As a JAG, he served his country both domestically and abroad, working as a prosecutor to safeguard servicewomen from sexual predators and ensure justice for serious felons. He also served as a battlefield advisor on the law of war to U.S. Forces in Iraq. In 2016, Eugene was assigned to the Pentagon and he and Cindy decided to settle near family in Dale City, Virginia. Later, he joined the National Security Council (NSC) where he focused on international partnerships, human rights, and ethics. In fact, Eugene became the Senior Ethics Official in the White House, using his expertise to uphold the integrity of our government.

Eugene's twin brother, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, who also worked on the NSC, witnessed then President Trump attempting to pressure Ukraine into investigating Joe Biden. Alexander reported the impropriety to Eugene, and together they followed the proper chain of command, reporting this attack on our democracy. Trump was impeached for his actions, but sadly, he was never held accountable. Just two days after being acquitted by the Senate, he fired both Alexander and Eugene from the White House.

Eugene Vindman is a true patriot, someone who has sacrificed and fought for our country. He brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to justice and integrity. We need
leaders like him in Congress.
