Friend,
Last week, the world learned Captain Brett Crozier’s
name.
When his crew aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt fell ill
from the coronavirus, he did what any military officer would do if
their crew was in danger -- he sounded the alarm and pleaded for
assistance to keep his sailors safe.
As of writing this, over
170 crew members of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, including Captain
Crozier himself, have tested positive for COVID-19. But in spite of
his courage, his vigilance, and his determination to do the right
thing -- or perhaps, because of it -- the Secretary of Defense
dismissed Capt. Crozier from his command.
But that’s not all --
in an address delivered to the USS Theodore Roosevelt’s crew, Acting
Navy Secretary Thomas Modly attacked Capt. Crozier’s character,
calling him “naive” and “stupid,” and blaming the media for trying to
“divide” and “embarrass” the U.S. Navy.
Speaking as a veteran
myself, I’m proud to stand with Capt. Crozier, and I unequivocally
denounce any attempts by this administration to smear his reputation
for daring to speak out on behalf of his crew’s safety, starting with
Acting Secretary Modly. That’s
why today, I’m calling for Thomas Modly’s resignation. If you support
Capt. Crozier, will you join me by signing my petition
today?

RESIGN
