John — As a teacher, sometimes I just cannot resist the urge to get my red pen out and correct lies when I see them, like I did with the latest attacks against me from the CT Republican Party:

CT Republicans tried to put the blame on me for the delays, obstruction, and inaction of House Republicans on delivering aid to our allies in Israel.

Let me be clear: House Democrats were literally calling for a vote on aid for months while my Republican colleagues continued to delay. In the end, it was Democrats who provided the votes to pass the foreign aid bills.

While Republicans take to social media and put out statements, I have been working with my colleagues to pass crucial aid. And while it was cathartic to call out lies in this red pen exercise, the seriousness of the work we do and the votes we pass is not lost on me. No amount of distortion can overcome the fact that Republicans have failed to deliver in the majority and their delays and inaction are dangerous.
