OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) Daily Report 82/2020 issued on 7 April 2020

Based on information from the Monitoring Teams as of 19:30 6 April 2020. All times are in Eastern European Summer Time.

Summary

  • Compared with the previous 24 hours, the SMM recorded fewer ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and a similar number of ceasefire violations in Luhansk region.
  • The Mission continued monitoring the disengagement areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske. It spotted four persons walking inside the disengagement area near Zolote during night hours, as well as white tape stretched and wooden logs across road T-1316.
  • It saw a mortar in violation of withdrawal lines in Sentianivka, Luhansk region.
  • The SMM monitored and facilitated adherence to localized ceasefires to enable  maintenance and construction of civilian infrastructure on both sides of the contact line, as well as demining activities in Krasnyi Yar, Luhansk region.
  • In Luhansk region, the Mission again saw that an entry-exit checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska and the corresponding checkpoint south of the Stanytsia Luhanska bridge remained closed amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • The SMM’s freedom of movement continued to be restricted in both Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
