The blind hatred for President Trump by many of our country’s liberal elites is often comical, but their opposition to treating high-risk coronavirus patients with hydroxychloroquine is one of the most dangerous things we’ve ever seen.
The drug, which has long been used for the treatment of malaria and conditions such as lupus and arthritis, opens a channel for zinc to enter lung cells and block virus replication.
It has saved thousands from the coronavirus, but since President Trump supports it, many liberals oppose allowing Americans the chance to use it in consultation with their doctors.
Some Democrat governors actually banned it, reporters regularly criticize the president for supporting it, and liberals everywhere are rooting for it to fail. It’s almost like they want people to die from the virus, which they call the "Trump Virus."
Thankfully, doctors on the front lines see it differently.
An international poll of more than 6,000 doctors found that hydroxychloroquine was the most highly rated treatment for the novel coronavirus.
The survey of 6,227 physicians in 30 countries found that 37% of those treating COVID-19 patients rated hydroxychloroquine as the “most effective therapy” from a list of 15 options.
Yet Ohio State Rep. Tavia Galonski (D) said she is going to file charges against President Trump at the International Court of Justice for “crimes against humanity” over his promotion of hydroxychloroquine.
These people have lost their minds.
This drug is not new.
Hydroxychloroquine was approved for medical use in the United States in 1955 and is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines.
The liberals’ opposition to the use of this life-saving medication is yet another example of why they can’t be trusted to govern.
We must all keep working to elect common sense conservatives who will fight for the right policies to secure America’s future.
