John, before we ask you to join Emily's people-powered campaign with a donation, we wanted to say this:
We knew that reproductive freedom was going to be a big issue in 2024, and now more than ever, we need more pro-choice voices in Congress to fight for our rights. But when it comes to John James, his stance on this issue is…unclear, at best.
FIRST: In his previous campaigns, he wasn't shy about the fact that he was "100% pro-life."
THEN: He wasn't afraid to go as far as to compare abortion to genocide.
NOW: After voters across Michigan have made their pro-choice stance clear, James is now taking a page out of a different book, claiming that the policy debate is "decided" and that abortion is "enshrined in our Constitution."
HOWEVER: We can see that this issue is far from resolved.
Couples who are trying to conceive in Alabama can't try IVF as an option because their doctors are terrified of prosecution.
Pregnant people in Florida are having their right to an abortion taken away, right around the time that most people find out they're pregnant in the first place.
And because of a Republican-appointed Supreme Court in Arizona, people in that state have had their right to an abortion completely taken away by a ban from the 1800's, with no exception for rape or incest.
