The American Lung Association's latest State of the Air report paints a grim picture of air pollution in the U.S.: Nearly 40% of our nation's population now lives in areas with unhealthy air.

And get this: The report also found that nearly 91 million people live in one of 119 counties that received a failing grade for significant increases in year-round particle pollution — a significant uptick compared to the previous year's findings.

Read that again.

This means tens of millions of Americans, including children and the elderly, are at increased risk of diseases like asthma, lung cancer, and cardiovascular issues from the air they breathe every day.

This report confirms our fears: the fossil fuel industry — backed by politicians who turn a blind eye — continues to poison our communities unchecked. These corporations significantly worsen air pollution, devastate local environments, and *literally* add fuel to the fire by exacerbating the conditions that make wildfires more frequent & deadly.
