Friend, it’s official: Net Neutrality is back. This a moment 20 years in the making — and we’ve been in this fight from the beginning.

Since the FCC first took up this matter, we’ve urged millions of people from across the political spectrum to call on the agency to protect an open internet, ensure that just and reasonable broadband services are available and reliable, and assert its authority to prevent broadband providers from harming internet users.

Even with this huge win for Net Neutrality behind us, there’s still a lot of work to do to ensure the internet remains free, open and accessible to all. Will you make your first donation to Free Press Action? Your gift will help fuel this work in the weeks and months ahead. We’re looking for 68 individual contributions to help us hit our April fundraising goal:

Our long-running campaign for Net Neutrality was never about getting faster download times or better gadgetry. The fight for an open internet is about democracy: It’s about ensuring that people have the information they need to hold their leaders accountable — and the tools to have an impact on decisions shaping their lives.

In the coming months, we’ll be closely watching (and organizing!) on the following:

* Saving the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The ACP is the first national program dedicated to subsidizing the cost of high-speed internet access for people living near the poverty line. Currently there are more than 23 million households enrolled in the ACP, but the program will run out of funding in a matter of days. We’ll keep pushing Congress to pass the Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act to ensure households can stay connected.

* Fighting legal and political challenges to Net Neutrality. When the FCC adopted strong Net Neutrality rules in 2015, the broadband industry sued to overturn the protections. Two years later, much to the pleasure of the ISPs, Trump’s FCC repealed those Net Neutrality rules that we ultimately won back this year. We have to be vigilant, but rest assured that our policy and legal team is ready to play defense.

Long story short: Our work isn’t over. But your support will enable our team of experts to protect these Net Neutrality rules over the long haul, and ensure that access to the internet is affordable and accessible for all.

So, friend, will you make your first donation to Free Press Action to help us hit our April fundraising goal?

Whether you’ve been with us since we first started our fight for a free and open internet or just recently learned of our work, we’re so glad we’re here.

Thank you for being with us in this fight,

P.S. We don't take a cent from business, government or political parties, because our independence is too important. Grassroots support from people like you truly made our work to win back essential Net Neutrality rules possible — help us protect them with a donation by the end of the month.
