We’ll cut to the chase: For the first time this year, we’re falling behind
on our fundraising needs for this month -- not an arbitrary goal, but a
budget we’ve carefully set to support our organizers in the field, craft
winning progressive messaging, and develop the voter contact tools and
programs we need to win in November. 

There’s only a few days left in the month, and we’re $20,000 short of our
target for April. We hope you’ll give us a moment to explain why
grassroots fundraising is so important to our mission, and [ [link removed] ]if you’re

At this point in the month, we know your inbox is starting to fill up with
fundraising asks (we get them too). It’s especially frustrating when they
come from emails we didn’t sign up for, or from campaigns who only ever
ask for money. A lot of these emails include arbitrary midnight deadlines,
doomsday predictions if you don’t donate, and messages that feed on fear
and anger. 

In the short term, those messages might raise a lot of money, but they
cause long-term harm. No one likes being treated like an ATM, and after a
constant barrage of anger and fear inducing emails, we can’t expect people
to feel inspired, hopeful, and motivated. 

That’s why we do things a little differently at Indivisible. Our priority
for our email program is to provide you with useful info and meaningful
ways to take action. When we do ask for donations, we’re honest about the
stakes, the urgency, and the need. 

This is one of those times. The sky won’t fall if we miss our goal this
month, and we’ll still be here working to defeat MAGA. But not hitting our
goal will have real consequences. The state of our grassroots fundraising
shapes the discussions we have about our upcoming plans and programs: 

🏘️ Recruiting for Neighbor2Neighbor. This is the most effective voter
contact tool we’ve ever developed, and it has the potential to shift the
outcome of the 2024 election, but it only works if we have enough people
knocking on their neighbors’ doors. Your donations help fund the outreach
and recruitment we need to make N2N a success.

📣 Planning nationwide events for the Dobbs anniversary. Voters need to
know what’s at stake this election -- and that Trump and MAGA are
responsible for their rights being stripped away. Your donations will
support group-led, attention-grabbing events across the country during our
week of action on the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court decision
overturning Roe. 

📲 Providing tried-and-true GOTV tactics. In addition to N2N, we’ll provide
our volunteers with all the tools they need to reach disaffected voters
across dozens of target states and districts. Your donations will help
determine just how many phonebanks, text parties, and postcards we can
provide. 

We have the tools, the strategies, and the volunteer energy we need to
defeat Trump and MAGA this November. But the scale and scope of our
programs -- the number of voters we can reach -- will be shaped by
grassroots donors like you.
