After the Arizona State Supreme Court enacted a pre-Civil War abortion law dating back to 1864, Rep. David Schweikert offered nothing but hollow sympathies.
He can pretend to be against this ruling all he wants, but let me paint you a clear picture:
Schweikert can’t run away from his anti-abortion record.
Schweikert is a SIX time co-sponsor of the Life at Conception Act, which would ban abortion nationwide and essentially outlaw IVF in Arizona and the rest of the country.
As a healthcare provider, I am a firm believer that a woman’s right to choose is a choice that should be made by her alone.
I am running for Congress to fight back against extremists like Rep. Schweikert who want to ensure that women do not have access to safe reproductive health care. While Schweikert supports a national abortion ban, I’ve been out protesting this ruling for weeks. When I’m elected to Congress, I will support efforts to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law, dedicating myself to protecting your freedoms.
This is the first big deadline since this draconian abortion ban was enacted, which means the entire country is looking to see if Arizona Democrats have what it takes to flip key districts like ours.
