John -- It's clear that, not only can we not depend on our highest courts to stand up for the rule of law and our democracy, but that these partisan judges will do everything in their power to return a Republican to the White House, no matter what threat to our country they pose.

This ruling on presidential power should be open and shut. No one, not even a President, is above the law.

Except this MAGA majority of Trump-appointed justices and Bush extremists are tip-toeing along, looking for a limited ruling that would protect Trump. Just like they did in every other Trump case that's come before them.

Forget for a moment that a sitting Justice's wife worked with the Trump campaign to overthrow the election... and that Justice still has not recused himself from this case. We have GOP-appointed and confirmed Supreme Court Justices openly discussing scenarios in which they would find a President's actions and decisions above the law.

It's like an absurdist Saturday Night Live skit... except this is real and terrifying and puts everything we've worked for at risk.
