Climate change doesn’t affect blue states more than red states. That’s why our climate agenda is actually incredibly popular in Republican areas too.
Nearly 90% of Americans support domestic manufacturing, 85% support tax incentives to make homes more energy efficient, 81% support funding research into carbon removal, 80% support investing in public transit, and 78% support environmental justice causes, according to recent polling by Heatmap News.
These climate programs are incredibly popular because Americans are seeing these dollars invested back into their communities, instead of just going to the 1%.
Even a good number of Republicans (outside Congress) support our climate agenda. That’s why GOP members who voted against the Inflation Reduction Act are now celebrating when the funding comes to their district! Their hypocrisy is off the charts.
Our investments are working, despite GOP opposition. In fact, last month, even Texas got more electricity from solar energy than from coal. It’s no wonder why Americans in both parties agree that we should continue working to protect the environment.
Climate change is not a Republican or Democrat issue. It’s affecting us all!
