Let's campaign together for our NHS 💙
Dear
John
,
Thank you so much for being part of We Own It and taking action for our NHS and other vital public services.
These are difficult times – heartbreaking times for many of us. We are thinking of you and hope you are doing okay.
So many of us have been affected personally by coronavirus and it’s making it crystal clear how much we need our NHS.
We're wishing the Prime Minister a speedy recovery - we really are all in this together right now.
But how unacceptable that our NHS has been underfunded, undermined and privatised for so many years.
How unacceptable that NHS staff haven't got the equipment they need to look after people.
It's so important to keep campaigning for our NHS at this crucial time.
Together with other organisations, your support means that we can help push for what’s needed right now – from private hospitals ([link removed]) to vital equipment ([link removed]) . And while the country is in lockdown, together with you we can lay the groundwork for protecting our NHS for the future.
THIS THURSDAY 9TH APRIL at 12.30 we’re holding our first ever webinar to update on campaigns and share solidarity. Join us for half an hour over lunch!
YES I’d like to join We Own It for lunch ([link removed])
Even as government ministers clap for NHS workers, they’re getting ready to allow more privatisation in our NHS ([link removed]) .
The trade bill has been published in parliament and it includes no protection for our NHS from a Trump trade deal.
While people are distracted by Covid-19, the government is carrying on with business as usual.
They’ve given the rail industry ([link removed]) an effective bailout. They’ve bailed out buses ([link removed]) . They’ve taken over private hospitals, but still allowed the private healthcare industry to profit ([link removed]) . And they’re just as committed to NHS privatisation as ever.
Let's get ready to fight back.
Coronavirus shows us why it’s important that the government sticks to its promise to keep the NHS off the table in trade talks. We want our NHS back when all this is over.
Sign the petition ([link removed]) if you haven’t yet and sign up for Thursday’s lunchtime We Own It webinar! ([link removed])
Covid-19 shows this work is more important than ever. We have an opportunity to make the case for our NHS in a way that hasn’t been possible before.
It's time to hold the government to account. We CANNOT let them get away with passing a trade bill that locks in privatisation and sells off our NHS to the US.
Parliament is on pause right now. When they come back we’ll be ready to protect our NHS.
With a team of five and an army of you, we’re punching above our weight. Thank you for being involved.
If you're interested in getting more involved, we'd love to update you on the campaign this Thursday 9th. We're holding a quick webinar over lunch and we'd love to see you there. You can register here! ([link removed])
Whether you can make it or not, thank you for everything you're doing at this difficult time.
In solidarity
Cat, Ellen, Pascale, Chris and Alice – the We Own It team
PS All over the country, people want to see our NHS properly funded and in our hands, not sold off to Trump and co. Here’s a message a new supporter sent us last week:
So very important to keep up the pressure to keep the NHS as a public service - especially as Virgin has just been given the contract for health services in Kent instead of the existing Trust.
How is that our NHS?!!
We must continue the fight to get rid of all the private contracts in the NHS costing the NHS more to make profits for shareholders - and ensure the NHS returns to its original vision of a public service where all funding goes to providing quality services for us all
Thank you for all you're doing in this ongoing struggle
Jenny
