People are worried; we need to keep praying

Dear supporter,

More than half of UK adults are very worried about COVID-19.

Polling shows that the level of anxiety has been consistently high since lockdown was announced on 23 March. Nearly one in four described themselves as being the ‘most worried ever'.

And then last night, we heard that the Prime Minister had been admitted into intensive care. We need to pray.

Cast all your anxiety on him
because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7

There are remarkable opportunities for believers to serve others and be distinctive because of our hope and security in Christ. We must ask that God will have mercy and use this extraordinary period to bring many people to know him.

From 19-25 April we will be holding a week of prayer. We hope you will join with us during that time to pray for a number of issues affecting our nation. But there is already much to pray for.

Please pray:

  • For our Prime Minister, currently in intensive care, and others experiencing symptoms;
  • For those who have lost loved ones;
  • For a swift end to the coronavirus outbreak and that a vaccine may be developed quickly;
  • With thanksgiving for the millions of key workers in the NHS and elsewhere on whom we depend. Pray too for their protection;
  • Giving thanks for the recovery from COVID-19 of Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty, Health Secretary Matt Hancock and many others;
  • For Sir Keir Starmer as he takes up his role as Leader of the Opposition;
  • That people will come to Christ;
  • That the preaching of the Gospel through live streaming etc. will be blessed;
  • Giving thanks to God that he is sovereign.

Yours in Christ,
Colin Hart
