April celebrates both Earth Month and Second Chance Month, we’d be doing a
huge disservice to one if we did not talk about the other. It's time we
start thinking of these as one movement, as opposed to separate ones, to
truly give our planet and people a second chance at a healthier and safer
life. That’s why, today we are talking about the environmental plight of
those often overlooked in the green movement: our prison population.
All too often, the prison population is overlooked in the climate change
movement, despite dealing with extreme conditions that are literally
killing them. We invite you to learn more about extreme heat in prisons
and the opportunity to combat these human rights issues in our latest
article.
