I know you've been hearing from me a lot lately, but since this is a people-powered campaign, I wanted to make sure you're kept as up-to-date as possible on what's happening on the ground.

And right now, I can say with certainty that May is a huge month for us. That's because May 10 is the filing deadline here in Washington — the deadline where every person who wants to run for WA-08 has to file their name with the state. That means we'll finally know who our opponents will be in this race.

We know this team has what it takes to win, no matter who we're up against. But the best way to show the strength of our movement is to enter that filing deadline in the best position possible – and that means hitting our April end-of-month fundraising goal. Having clear opponents in this race means a lot of things, john, but here's what I'm most worried about: money . And I don't just mean the dollars we are raising. I mean the money that we can soon expect to flood into the district from Republicans who are determined to flip this seat back to red.

With Kim being one of the NRCC's top targets, special interest donors will be lining up to throw their millions of dollars into stopping Kim and boosting her GOP candidate. We have to start right now to build up the resources to fight back.
