Getting Results During Divided Government
This week, my bill to block the funding of terrorism was signed into law.
During a time of war, terrorism, and instability in the Middle East, it is important to ensure sanctions are not only on the books but enforced to their fullest extent.
This was my second bill to be signed into law this congress and I look forward to continuing to work to get results in D.C.

Celebrating Our Young Scholars
Our very own Monroe Elementary School in Janesville is a recipient of this year's National Blue Ribbon School Award! The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. The criteria require students to be in the top 15% in both English and mathematics, as measured by state assessments.
This year, Monroe Elementary School was one of only 8 schools in the entire state of Wisconsin to receive this prestigious award! Congratulations to all the hard-working students, your commitment to education and dedication to create a better version of yourselves serves as a great example to what our community is all about. Thank you to all our teachers and staff for making this possible, this does not happen without you.
RAMAC Business Awards
Picture with Knapp Manufacturing team who won "Manufacturer of the Year"
Racine has always been a city with no shortage of talent. Whether it’s our perceptive students, talented artists, or our inspiring business leaders, our community packs a powerful punch. This week, I attended the Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce Business awards to celebrate some of our greatest contributors to the improvement of our economy and vitality of the greater Racine area.
The theme of the evening was building a future together brick by brick. See the full list of this year's winners below:
Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day
April 24th was the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. On this day and always, we remember the one and a half million Armenians who were deported, massacred, and torn from their families as Ottoman authorities arrested Armenian intellectuals and community leaders in 1915. In the wake of this conflict, we honor the continued resilience of the Armenian people and the perseverance of their ancestors who have built new lives in the United States and beyond.
We also recognize the current hardship endured by the Armenian Population of Nagorno-Karabakh. The United States stands behind you and will continue to stand up for human rights as we work towards a future where we all can live with peace and respect.
I also appreciated a discussion I had with Armenian-American community leaders at St. Mesrob in Racine. Azerbaijan aggression continues to cause many hardships for the Armenian people and must stop.
Wishing You a Blessed Passover
To all those celebrating in Wisconsin and around the globe, I wish you a blessed Passover. As you gather around the Sedar table to reflect on challenges new and old, I sincerely hope you take a moment to enjoy the loved ones around you, and some flavorful food.
God bless.
On Wisconsin,
Bryan Steil Member of Congress
