When I led the strike against Kellogg’s in 2021, we weren’t asking for a raise. We were just trying to preserve what we had.

We’d worked through the pandemic – all of us working long overtime hours – and the company was doing better than they ever had. They profited $2 billion extra that year.

The CEO gave himself a $2 million raise. I mean, why wouldn’t he? And the board gave themselves raises as well.

But I guess when you’re sitting on a pile of cash, trying to figure out how you can afford to buy a yacht that’s 4 feet longer than the next guy’s… you have to find the money somewhere.

You can’t control the price of commodities. You can’t control sugar or grain. The only thing you can try to control is the price of labor. So they had the audacity to try to take from their workers.

If Kellogg’s had come to us and just said: Let’s keep everything the same. Same wages, same benefits… We might have accepted that. But they didn’t.

They wanted to cut new workers’ salaries by almost 40%, slash our retirement and health care, and end our cost of living adjustments – all while they were getting richer!

So we walked out. For 11 weeks, I led the strike as we held the picket line through the cold winter. When they tried to end our union, we fought back. And in the end, we won.

When I look at Congress and see what people like my opponent Republican Senator Deb Fischer are doing, I am baffled. We send them there to serve us , and instead, they serve corporations and the special interests.

I’m not rich. I don’t have corporations backing my campaign. What I have is something far stronger: Everyday people like you who believe, as I do, that we can take on corporate politicians – and we can win.

The latest poll shows just 24% of Nebraskan voters approve of my opponent Republican Senator Deb Fischer – and I am LEADING her by 2 points.

In the United States Senate, I will be the 51st vote to fight back against the corruption, stop a complete national abortion ban, and I’ll always have the backs of working people. But if I am going to flip this Senate seat, I need grassroots donors like you to give right now:
