Greetings,
We hope you have had a great week and wish everyone celebrating Passover, Chag Pesach sameach!
This week, New Jersey lost a dedicated public servant and truly kind man. Congressman Kim and our entire office join our New Jersey communities in mourning the loss of Congressman Donald M. Payne Jr., who passed away this Wednesday. We hold his family and loved ones close in our hearts after such a tremendous loss.
As always, we hope you find these updates and resources helpful.
Congressman Kim Holds 74th Telephone Town Hall
This week, Congressman Kim held his 74th town hall as a telephone town hall. He was joined by special guests from Autism New Jersey, to help recognize Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month and speak about how to best support those with autism across New Jersey, as well as from The Nature Conservancy, to discuss the value of Earth Day and the importance of continued action to protect our environment and build a greener, safer, and more climate resilient future.
Congressman Kim appreciated the chance to hear from neighbors on issues they care about and answer their questions, including on the challenges of affording housing, dispelling hate and violence targeting AAPIs, and improving public transportation options across the state to reduce New Jersey’s environmental footprint and help combat climate change.

Congressman Kim Votes to Pass Funding to Support America’s Allies Through Security Funding Package
Over the weekend, Congressman Kim voted to pass a package of bills to provide assistance to American allies around the world.
Congressman Kim’s statement on the legislation:
“These are difficult and chaotic times, but I still believe American leadership has an important role to play to protect freedom and democracy around the world. Some of my colleagues espouse a belief that our support to allies and partners hurts us at home. I disagree strongly. Security abroad helps deliver stability at home, helps us keep our own families safe and our economy growing. With so much uncertainty, we need to guard ourselves from the push to have America withdraw from the world and instead help shape stability in this volatile global era. My votes today were not without struggle and reservation as I didn’t agree with every single provision, but using democratic leverage to get $9.2B in humanitarian assistance into the final package when the Republican majority fought hard to try and remove it was critical and was an effort I supported.”
Prioritizing Mental Health in New Jersey Classrooms
Taking care of our students' mental health is vital for their overall well-being and lifelong success. Camp Fire NJ’s Count On Me Kids Program works to support students by building their confidence and helping them to overcome peer pressure. With specialized programs for different grade levels, they work inside classrooms to look out for kids’ mental health so they have the most opportunities to thrive.
This week, Congressman Kim joined Camp Fire NJ at Walter C. Black Elementary School in Hightstown to see their work up close which encourages healthy habits and builds up kids' self-esteem and confidence in what they accomplish!
