I've always been a bookworm, friend.

Growing up, I treated our local bookstore like a library, sitting there for hours, reading books cover to cover because I didn't have the money to buy them.

Reading opened my eyes to new perspectives, far-off places, and different career opportunities. Reading helped me dream big. Our kids deserve the same opportunity to learn and grow through books, but Ted Cruz and the GOP are fighting to ban books.

That's part of why I'm running to defeat Ted Cruz – to stop Republicans' outrageous attacks on our kids' education. But I have to raise another $455,000 before the month ends to power this campaign against Ted Cruz. Will you chip in $5 or more by midnight tonight to help us reach my $500,000 end-of-month fundraising goal, send me to the Senate, and kick Ted Cruz to the curb? →

Friend, we have a real chance to win this thing: Polls are showing me TIED with Ted Cruz, and experts are calling him the most vulnerable Republican Senator on the ballot.

I know in my bones that Texans are sick and tired of Ted Cruz and ready for change. They know what I know: Our kids, and our families, deserve better than Ted Cruz and his failed, extremist agenda.

But with Ted Cruz already having raised a whopping $51.2 MILLION, I'm counting on grassroots supporters like you to be by my side every step of the way. So please, before my end-of-month fundraising deadline, will you donate $5 or more to help me defeat Ted Cruz and give Texas children and families the leadership we deserve? →

Every dollar makes a difference, so thank you for giving what you can and being a huge part of this team.
