John,My late husband and I immigrated here from Perú when we were just 20 years old because we believed in the endless opportunities America presented.

It wasn’t easy starting life in a new country, but we were determined to make it in America like we’d seen in movies and TV shows. We worked two or more jobs to make ends meet, on factory lines, selling hot dogs, and driving a taxi.

And eventually, my husband got a union job and we went from living in poverty to a life in the middle class.

That’s why I’m so incredibly proud to see my son run for Congress. Tony has never backed down against the odds. It’s one of the reasons I know Tony can win this race, but I also know we all have to band together to help him.
