John, great news!

This week, the Environmental Protection Agency finalized strong limits of pollution from fossil fuel-fired power plants through their power under the Clean Air Act.

You might have assumed power plants’ carbon pollution was already regulated. You’d be sadly mistaken.

This comes after our SEEC members Kathy Castor and Mike Levin led 100 House Dems on a letter last July calling for the strongest carbon pollution standards possible by early 2024.

This is a major win and wouldn’t be possible without our SEEC climate champions in Congress! Will you please donate to help us continue fighting for more progress? [[link removed]]

DONATE TODAY » [[link removed]]Our power sector is the second largest source of climate pollution in the United States, driving poor air quality in local neighborhoods and accelerating the climate crisis for the entire planet.

We are thrilled the EPA heeded our calls for a strong rule to cut pollution from dirty power plants and ensure American can breathe clean air and live on a habitable planet.

These new emissions standards will slash pollution by 83% below 2005 levels and create $370 billion in climate and health benefits over the next two decades - with almost no impact on electricity rates. That’s what we can accomplish together!

But congressional Republicans are already sharpening their knives to try and gut these standards. We need your help to hold them at bay!

While this is a great step in the right direction, our work is not done. Will you donate now to help us continue fighting for stronger standards for existing gas power plants? [[link removed]]

Thank you,
David @ SEEC PAC

Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
