Hey — I’m going to get straight to the point.

Our nation has made incredible strides toward equality and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community. It’s something I take a lot of pride in, and something I bet you do, too.

But it probably isn’t news to you that some extremists on the other side of the aisle are increasingly attacking LGBTQ+ people to score political points. It’s wrong and it’s dangerous, because it makes LGBTQ+ people, especially kids, less safe as they go about just living their lives.

I’m proud to be a co-chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus, and I’m proud to fight for safety, privacy, and dignity for every American, no matter who you are or who you love. I’m going to keep doing exactly that for as long as I have the privilege of serving our community.

If you’re with me in this fight, I’d be grateful if you could support my re-election campaign, because, candidly, the super PACs spending big to defeat me would like nothing better than to replace me — one of the only openly LGBTQ+ representatives in Congress — with an anti-LGBTQ+ extremist.
