It’s no secret that if you want to win elections these days, you need to raise a whole lot of money.

The resources needed to win an election are immense but they all go toward reasonable things that power success and support democracy. For example, voter persuasion, GOTV efforts, and other campaign activities require significant resources.

The real problem: Thanks to the disastrous Supreme Court decision in Citizens United , ultra-wealthy donors and super PACs can pour limitless resources behind someone willing to be bought and paid for, making elections incredibly expensive. In fact, we’re seeing that right now in Congress.

MAGA Republicans are more concerned with lowering taxes for the wealthiest individuals and large corporations than they are with protecting Social Security and Medicare for hard-working Americans. And we’ll let you in on a secret — that’s not what their constituents are asking for.

Pat sees it differently. He hasn’t accepted a single cent of corporate PAC money, and never will. Why? Because families across the Hudson Valley need someone in Congress who puts them first.
