We are excited to invite you to the 2024 Thomas P. Leckey Forum, on Thursday, May 30 at the National Landing Experience Center in Arlington. In partnership with HousingForward Virginia and the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, this year's Leckey Forum focuses on the relationship between zoning regulations and housing affordability in Northern Virginia.

Why Attend?
You'll have the opportunity to delve into the findings of research conducted by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Over the past several months, their team meticulously evaluated over 500 local zoning districts across Northern Virginia and analyzed more than 7,000 pages of associated regulations. The result? A comprehensive understanding of what types of homes can or cannot be built in each district.

Leckey Forum Speakers:

  • Emily Hamilton, Andrew Crouch,?and Eli Kahn?will kick off the event by sharing their insights and connecting the research findings to the current housing market dynamics in Northern Virginia.
  • Jonathan Knopf?and Eric Mai will discuss the significance of this research and why demystifying zoning is crucial for addressing housing affordability.
  • James Freas will provide valuable insights into ongoing zoning ordinance rewriting efforts in the City of Charlottesville.

Ticket Details:
